I've just come home from celebration the 4th of May with the District of Copenhagen of the Home Guard. My dad got a medal for 40 years service. The ceremony took ages, tons of people were called to receive their medals and everyone had to get two handshakes, a piece of paper and have their medal pinned to their uniform (did anyone say boring?!). I guess that's why I never joined the Home Guard, all the ceremonies and administration. I like to go on the drills, or whatever you call them, where they do ranged shooting and explosions and stuff. I went one time when I was studying for my Biology A exam on my 2nd semester. My dad was in charge of explosions. I brought my book and everything but I didn't get much studying done because I had so much fun joining in the military activities between teams (it was a competition between the Scandinavian divisions or something like that). But I think I'll just stick to tailing my father to activities - I can't really picture myself in black and green spots :o)
Right now I'm watching tonight's episode of "Desperate Housewifes" - that show is just so funny! I'm so glad that's begun because "Angel" ends in just two episodes time - granted, it was becoming a bit weird but last sundays episode "That girl in question" was really funny, love Spike and Angel in scenes together. And the way they kept referring to Buffy as "their girl". I'm just surprised that they didn't nick Kyle's line from the episode "Blind Date" of "Roswell": "Well, how do we split her up, exactly? Every other week? Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, alternate Saturdays?"
Btw. I've begun listening to the "Artemis Fowl" audio book and it's great so far. In style it's a bit like "The Narnia Chronicles" but storywise it's a lot like "Harry Potter" with taking the things that we all know from out everyday life and make it into something magical. So I'm looking forward to the next chapters :o)
And now I have to find a title for this little bastard... I'll just get out my Oxford Dictionery and pick a random word... The first thing to catch my eye is the word *drum-roll*: scone. What a terrific pick! Applause people.
