Hello, hello!

Thought it was time for an update... Not that I have anything to say today really. I've been doing some serious reading in the book called "Principles of neural science". It's actually really fascinating! Yesterday I completed the chapter about pain: We actually have tons of different pain-receptors. We have receptors taking care of things like pinching and probing - 4 of the kind; one taking care of the movement, another of the intensity, another of the frequency and so on. Then there's the nociceptors taking care of severe pain - the burning, throbbing kind, the thermoceptors taking care of pain related to hot or cold. Fascinating.
Now I'm working on the chapters of vision, of the eye. So I'm reading about rods and cones and about the retina and the fovea. The next subject I will head onto is about colour-vision. And after that it's hearing.

I'va just checked out my schedule - I'll be attending 2 classes this semester, and it'll add up to a total sum of 12 lectures. It's going to be alright. Every lecture probably demands about 1½ - 2 hours of prestudy but that's not too much. I remember all too well the time when I arrived at 8 o'clock in the morning to leave at 7 o'clock in the evening - only then to prepare for the next days lectures and laboratory exercises. I thank God for those days being long gone.

Alrighty, look at the time... Almost 12... I'll better get on with my studies...
