Today I got a mail from the professor I'm currently working under during my undergraduate project, saying that he can probably offer me a graduate position next semester, as I had asked. I was so pleased. I have had so many doubts whether or not I wanted to stay in the field of neuroscience but ever since I was a kid I've wanted to work with the brain. Now I probably have my chance. My path had strayed into the field of immunology for a short time but I think it really is neuroscience that has captured my heart.
The graduate project is of such great importance for future employment so it has to be done in something that you enjoy doing - also because so many hours are spent in the laboratory and with writing the report. So that's important.
I sometimes feel stuck in my position because so many of my friends have moved on in the world. I'm just stuck "in school". But on the other hand I love being her. I could be a student forever! Perhaps later, when I had a steady job and everything, I will study something else. I am very fond of nutrition, zoology, psychology, philosophy and I would also love to really learn to practice my creative hobbies such as design, drawing, writing, dancing, singing and programming (the last not really a hobby of mine but one I would like to have). I never get tired of learning new things. Sometimes I think I do but in reality it isn't so.
Well, that's all folks. Hope to see you soon :o)
